Lugha Nour was initially developed alongside the Attakallum series, which continues to serve as the main framework for the vocabulary flashcards on this site.
The vocabulary has been expanded with additional words, synonyms, antonyms, plural forms, and notes gathered from standard Arabic references to support review and deeper learning. The content will continue to grow as my studies progress, in sha Allah.
What is Attakallum?
Attakallum is a comprehensive Arabic language curriculum designed for non-native speakers, with a focus on practical communication and gradual skill development.
The series follows a structured progression from Starter through Upper-Intermediate, providing learners with increasingly advanced vocabulary and language structures.
In 2017, the series received an award from the Academy of the Arabic Language in Cairo for Best Arabic Coursebook for Foreigners.
The series is best studied with a teacher.
Its graded progression and vocabulary can also provide useful preparation for students working toward Arabic language proficiency assessments, including the Hamza Academic Test.
Attakallum and Lugha Nour
The vocabulary flashcards on Lugha Nour are based on the Attakallum series, but they are not intended to replace the course itself.
They are designed as an additional study resource for reviewing vocabulary by level and exploring related words, forms, and notes beyond the core vocabulary.
The resources will continue to develop alongside my own studies, in sha Allah. As my studies progress, I welcome corrections and feedback from teachers and fellow learners.
